GDS uses the Legacy IT Risk Assessment Framework (opens in new tab) to obtain an objective understanding of government legacy IT as set out in the [link to Government Legacy Action Plan].

The Legacy System Register is the digital service that allows:

• government organisations to maintain a list of their top-level IT systems
• government organisations to provide a self-assessment for their IT systems against the legacy framework
